In order for Tech giants to stay on top of the industry, they must continually be improving their products. Businesses like Apple, Microsoft, and Google keep this in mind and are consistently coming up with new ways to stay ahead of the game.
The Power of the Retina Display
One recent example of a company who is doing this right is Apple. Apple’s new Retina display offers the clearest images and videos when compared with any other. This is due to its 2,048-by-1,536-pixel resolution. Digital Trends recently wrote an intriguing article about it, and it looks like Apple isn’t stopping there.
Arming the MacBook Pro with High-Tech Visuals
What’s Apple’s next big move? It’s now intending to release a MacBook Pro line with 15-inch displays that boast a resolution of 2,880-by-1,800 pixels. This should produce images that are twice as sharp as those of current MacBook Pro models. The objective is to increase the density of pixels to a point where the human eye can no longer identify individual pixels. When this occurs, images are made of smooth, continuous tones. They no longer resemble a grid of dots.
Not a New Technology
The technology powering the Retina display is not really new, according to Digital Trends. The U.S. Military has used it for its flight simulators for years as a way to help train its pilots. Even IBM has used it for a few of its higher-end supercomputing systems. The change, though, is that Apple is pushing this technology into the mainstream. You can bet that when consumers get a good look at the images on the screen of the new iPad, they’ll demand even crisper text, video, and images on their desktop and mobile devices. And by doing this, Apple is once more cementing its place among the world’s technology leaders.
