Want your small business to function as efficiently as it can? Then you need to use technology just as efficiently. Fortunately, the Web site TechnologySchools.org has plenty of advice on how small business owners can use technology to boost their sales.

The right passwords

Hackers can ruin your small business. The appropriate passwords, though, can keep these cyber criminals at bay. TechnologySchools.org recommends that you create passwords that are at least eight characters long. The site adds that you should include symbols, numbers and both upper- and lowercase letters in your passwords. And, obviously, don’t use passes such as “password” or “1234.”

Keeping your passwords safe

Once you’ve generated solid passwords, don’t make the mistake of simply writing them on a scrap of paper or saving them in a doc. If you do, your passwords could end up in the hands of the wrong person. Preferably, rely on storage sites such as DashLane or LastPass to maintain your passwords in easy reach of you but protected from hackers.

A speedier machine

Is your older computer slowing down? TechnologySchools provides some advice for you to give it a speed boost. The site suggests that monthly you delete old files, eliminate unneeded programs and defragment your hard drive. Last but not least, you should execute a registry scan to discover and erase corrupted or damaged files.
